In January 2011, we pressed the second batch of our Three Farmers Camelina Oil. The seed used for this lot of oil was sown in the fall of 2009. Colin utilized his knowledge of intercropping, an ancient farming method, to supplement the soil with the nutrients that would be lost throughout the growing season. By implementing the modern method of direct seeding, Colin under seeded the soil to lentils, a crop whose nutritional requirements complement those of Camelina quite nicely. In late June 2010, Lot 008 was harvested, cleaned and made ready for future extraction of the fresh, flavourful oil that you are now able to take home and enjoy!
