In October 2014 we got wind that our CBC Dragon’s Den Update episode was set to air on November 26^th! We knew that we wanted to be better prepared this time so we set to work pressing our next batch of Camelina oil.

This batch of seed was taken from Dan Vandenhurk’s seed stock. This seed was sewn in the Fall of 2011. The fall seeding allowed the crop to get a good head start in the Spring and emerge before any weeds or pests could get the best of it! The growing season was fantastic with rains early on and dry conditions leading into harvest. In late September of 2012, this crop was harvested and sure enough, it yielded a seed with optimal oil value and jam packed with Omega-3 and Vitamin E. We have stored it in whole seed form until ready for pressing to ensure all the nutritional value and integrity of the seed remain intact.

Golburn Valley set to work pressing this seed in October 2014. Once settled, we immediately transferred it to our bottling facility at Northern Nutraceuticals and on November 24, 2014 our crew in Spalding, SK set to work bottling.
